Supporting British Cymbal Makers
Our mission
British Cymbals champions the small, growing number of smiths still hand-hammering B20 bronze cymbals in the UK — one at a time, by ear and by feel, not off a factory line. They've long been scattered and hard to find. We bring them together in one place, so drummers can discover and buy genuinely British-made cymbals with confidence.
Every maker here is a working smith, at a real bench. Select a name for their story, meet the smith, and where to buy.

The Ashmore Cymbal Company hand-hammers B20 bronze cymbals in Northampton, with a strong focus on crash rides, Clapstacks, and the Miras range. The full range also includes crashes, hi-hats, and chinas, alongside a cymbal repair and modification service.

The Ashmore Cymbal Company is run by Ryan — one of only a handful of British makers hand-hammering cymbals from Turkish B20 bronze, shaped by ear and by feel in a Northampton workshop.

The range
Crashes, crash rides, Clapstacks and the Miras range — alongside hi-hats and chinas. Every one hand-hammered to order.

Bright, responsive and musical — hand-hammered crashes with genuine character.

A versatile voice that crashes and rides with equal ease — a workshop favourite.

Sharp, cutting stack effects with a trashy bite — signature Ashmore.

Hi-hats, chinas, the Miras range and more — explore everything in the workshop.
The maker
Ashmore cymbals aren't mass produced, generic, or for everyone. Each is hand-hammered from Turkish B20 bronze in a Northampton workshop by Ryan Ashmore — an independent, ambitious British maker driven to build cymbals that stand on their own.
The focus is on crash rides, Clapstacks and the Miras range, but the door is open for hi-hats, chinas and one-off custom work — hammered, shaped and lathed by hand until it sounds right.

“I discovered these amazing cymbals at the UK Drum Show and instantly fell in love. The quality and sound they produce for that price point — I couldn't say no. I've been drumming since the age of six and know quality when I hear it. Highly recommend!”
Jake O'Sullivan · Google“So happy with my 17″ Miras Crash from Ashmore! Been playing it for the last month and love it so much I've decided to switch from Paiste entirely to Ashmore. Customer service is top notch as well!”
Julia Maynard · Google“Fantastic service. Cymbal was incredibly well packed and arrived promptly. I was torn on the size of stack and he made and sent me a personal video so I could hear them before purchase. Honestly 1st class service.”
Jason Sayers · Google“Ryan cut down two of my cymbals after they cracked. Fantastic work and expert craftsmanship — sent and returned within a week, looking and sounding amazing. Communication and care throughout was exceptional.”
